Brighton workshop feedback

Feedback from my Shadow Tantra workshop in Brighton (UK) last weekend has started coming in and it’s really exciting to see what people have to say!

What did you enjoy most about this workshop?

Nick: The beautiful space that was held, the willingness of all the other participants to explore openly and with joy, and being tied up and spanked!

Have you learned anything new, or noticed any personal healing through participating in this workshop? (If so please summarise as you feel comfortable to)

David Pickup: Yes. I have always thought I was not very good at physical intimacy with women, although my sexuality is such that being drawn to women is my deepest passion.. I have felt this lack of ability was set in stone like I’m 5 feet 8 tall for example. I discovered it’s not true. I was amazed at the event by the wealth of my experience with the women present, my confidence and also – importantly – the responses I felt at many moments. Incidentally, I do also enjoy physical contact with men, but its quite different and its not fraught with worries and insecurities.

What did you enjoy most about this workshop?

CB: Exploring conscious consent…it’s made me pay attention to when I am giving unconscious consent

Have you learned anything new, or noticed any personal healing through participating in this workshop? (If so please summarise as you feel comfortable to)

CB: A deeper understanding of why childhood incidents of being beaten affected me the way they had, also abusive relationships. I felt I reclaimed my power and control in these areas as well as along my ancestral line. I learned that in the past I have given unconscious consent by not having clear boundaries and clear communication.

Would you recommend this workshop to a friend and if so, how would you describe it?David Pickup: This is an interesting question.. apart from something like recommending a bar of chocolate, I would never recommend anything to a friend, or to anyone. They must choose it themselves, because their needs and responses will differ from mine. However, I would happily and lustily describe something I enjoy, and I frequently do so, and in the present case I would say “and I’m going again to the next event” .. this is a kind of recommendation in itself, and the other person can make of it what they will.

Would you recommend this workshop to a friend and if so, how would you describe it?

Nick: Yes – I’d describe it as a safe way to explore your boundaries, and to challenge them, by discovering an unexplored world.

My next workshops are always listed on my Events page include my next UK workshop:  Getting Conscious With Kink in London, April 26-27
